I told their support this and they only suggestion they had was when I had a drive failure I should completely shutdown the entire backblaze service to make them think my computer had failed.
ARQ BACKUP WEBDAV FULL
At full speed I should have 2TB in 2 days.
ARQ BACKUP WEBDAV DOWNLOAD
Even if it was only going to take 8 days I wouldn't get it, since I have to complete each download with 7 days. So if you select a 2TB restore and like me it was going to take 31 days to download you won't get it. In addition to this they delete your restore within 7 days after you select it. Their download speeds are poor, crashplans might also be poor but backblaze are the ones who will delete your backed up files within 30 days if you lose your data. Both clients freeze often when doing those tasks.įiles are encrypted then uploaded, not at the same time. They use 10 applications to give you 10 upload/download threads for example. Their upload and download client's are built poorly. also allows you to Bulk Import or Bulk Create users with any site-enabled SSO providers. Finally, click Save to apply the setting.

Next, click Authentication Method and select the desired SSO provider from the dropdown list. I was with Backblaze only a few weeks ago and I'm quite unhappy with them. To assign an SSO method for an existing user, navigate to Settings > Users and click the username of the user. Something to do with deduplication and how the options don't work properly.

ARQ BACKUP WEBDAV PATCH
I was getting slow upload, but then I downloaded a patch and it gave me full upload speeds. Just make sure to tag the post with the flair and give a little background info/context.Ĭrashplan. On Fridays we'll allow posts that don't normally fit in the usual data-hoarding theme, including posts that would usually be removed by rule 4: “No memes or 'look at this '”

I also experimented with Arq, using a pre-flight script to mount the Synology shares (there is a blog post on that explains how to do this and provides the AppleScript code), and I found this also worked. I was also able to use their HyperBackup Explorer utility on a Mac with my B2 store mounted via services like CloudMounter to browse the files, so my testing suggested that if the Synology died and I chose not to replace it I could still retrieve the files.
ARQ BACKUP WEBDAV PASSWORD
I tried encrypting backups and had some bad experiences with being unable to access the encrypted backups (and I know I had the correct password stored in 1Password, and I tried several restarts with the same issues) but eventually I did seem to get it to work. I found the versioning worked although the interface was a bit kludgy. Online Backup usually requires a backup client program. Online backup is a special kind of online storage service however, various products that are designed for file storage may not have features or characteristics that others designed for backup have. I now use Syncovery with GDrive, ACD and a few WebDAV connections to backup local disks, remote disks and more exotic source like SSH and HTTP sites.

That may well be sufficient for your needs, however. This is a comparison of online backup services. ARQ hasn't been good to me scanning large arrays of files. For example, although it is claimed that you can set up backups on, for example, an hourly basis, I was never able to get it to work on anything other than a daily basis. When I had a Synology, I played quite a bit with HyperBackup.
